Hello folks. Benji, the Wonder Dog here, but you can call me Benji. So, there I was, lying peacefully on my comfy pillow, dreaming of lying peacefully on my comfy pillow, when I hear all this commotion at the front door. All of a sudden, I am roused from my reverie, harness and leash are attached and I am headed out the front door. My Fur Grans are here to take me for anotherwalk!
Not much to tell. After working for 3 companies over 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I had waited my entire career for……retirement.
I have been exploring this new career for the past 7+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wants has been very fulfilling. Early on, there was a long list of projects in my “to-do” hopper and I attacked these projects with a vengeance for the first 9 months of retirement. Eventually, my brain told me that this was not what retirement was about, so it took me another 5 months before my industriousness again took over and I attacked another line of projects, this time somewhat shorter and less complicated, as well as many new projects related to the family weddings in 2016. After going hard for 6 weeks and 3 weddings, my body was telling me to relax, then the flu bug hit and as soon as that was done with me, my sciatic acted up. No rest for the wicked. In 2020 and 2021, the Covid 19 pandemic changed the whole retirement gig. I was lucky to not be still working, for sure.
I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may never become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

Benji writes pretty well for a dog. Such a great array of wildlife in this post. Sladja and I are into the swing of dog walking here in Scotland. I’d forgotten what a joy it is to reconnect with a loved pet and River, my dad’s Brittany, is an utter delight. Not much chance of him ever grumbling about being dragged out though. Today he was audibly whimpering and pacing the living room because we were late with walkies!
He is a good yarn spinner for sure. Not sure why he was balking that day. Maybe he was trying to assert his arf-ority and go where he wanted to go. He was a good companion during our visit and he is always happy to see us when we come for a visit. Glad you and Sladja have a walking companion. Thanks for reading Leighton. Allan
Always love a Benji guest post. It’s funny how dogs know the vet. My dog would sit like a mule and refuse to move. Even in the parking lot she knew where we were.
Yes, I have a lot of fun when Benji writes a post. The trouble for Benji on this outing is that we came in the back way to the vet, so it was kind of sneaky. Hopefully he forgives us. Thanks for reading Lyssy. Allan
Thanks Bernie. Gotta keep it fun, just the way Benji likes it. He has a treat tooth, for sure. I guess he is kinda like me. Thanks for reading Bernie. Allan

you’ve outdone yourself with captions on this one Allan! They are so funny. As to Benji — seems he is a softie for a treat. Bernie
