Among the Eagles

All photos taken on May 20, 2022. After days where we barely saw any eagles, today was another motherlode as we walked down by Port San Juan. It was like they were showing what we would be missing when we left. To continue reading, please click here. Alternatively, click here to go to new BlogContinue reading “Among the Eagles”

En-Raptor-ed

All photos taken on May 19, 2022. When we were planning our stay at Port Renfrew, Patty was giddy with excitement for me. She said, “Now you will get lots of photos of eagles.” I was excited too, to tell the truth. I saw an eagle flying by our ferry when crossing to the IslandContinue reading “En-Raptor-ed”

Exploration Date

All photos taken on June 20, 2022. We have been in a bit of a rainy spell of late, but managed to find a window to bike around our small city and see what was shaking. We call this route, the lake (actually, storm pond) loop and it is always nice to see what waterContinue reading “Exploration Date”

Climate Change is Real

All photos taken on June 9, 2022 on our 33 km (20 mile) bike ride. Whether you agree with the causes for climate change or not, there can be no denial that Earth’s climate is changing. While the cycle for the change may be “normal”, the severity pendulum keeps swinging in longer and longer arcs.Continue reading “Climate Change is Real”

Battle Stations

All photos taken during our 4.6 km (3 mile) walk to Four Seasons Park and back. The forecast had been calling for rain and a rain/snow mix, starting at 4:00 PM yesterday, but not much of that appeared. However, the promised NW winds gusting to 50 k/h (31 m/h) did appear and had been howlingContinue reading “Battle Stations”

Wild World

All photos taken on March 29, 2022. There are some Bunchberry walks where you can hear the wildlife all around you as you walk, but never see a bird or animal. And there are other days, where the forest bursts out in joyous birdsong and you are surrounded by a Snow White film in TechnicolourContinue reading “Wild World”
