Somewhere Across the Bay

All photos taken on November 29, 2023. Happy Birthday Patty.

Due to appointments and commitments, we were postponing Patty’s birthday celebration to Saturday. That did not mean that I could not find ways to make her day more special.

Take the Long Way Home

The West End has one of the highest WalkScores in Canada and possibly in North America. Here are the walkscore comparisons for:

That’s Humidity

We were on duty today until 2:00 PM this day and after a delightful lunch of poutine from La Belle Patate, I popped out onto the balcony to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. After all the recent rains and today’s low winds, the morning fog was now afternoon fog and was still hanging around obscuring the tops of the city towers. It was all rather ethereal.

English Bay Sundown

Today was a busy day with over at B & K’s. Benji stayed home. We finished our duties around 4:00 PM and walked the long way home, via English Bay. It was truly a breath of fresh air and nice to catch some colour.

You Never Know What You’ll See

Excursion – Part 2

Part two of this hike took us out Ravine and Tunnel Trails to the Stanley Park Seawall Path alongside Vancouver Harbour. It was a very scenic walk, even on such a grey day.

Excursion – Part 1

All photos taken on November 26, 2023.

It was Sunday and we were craving a bacon and egg breakfast, so headed over to nearby Forage restaurant around 7:15. The breakfast was good, but not as good as it used to be and the price had nearly doubled. Sigh.

Collateral Snappage

As mentioned in BtWD’s post on an Old Dog Learning New Tricks, his training sessions were spread out over the whole of Vancouver and Burnaby. On this day, the lesson was at Trout Lake near Commercial Drive. We had seen this lake before, but never really spent any time there.

Burns Bog – Delta Nature Reserve

For my birthday, son B had given me a gift certificate for a very long bike ride with him. We had tentatively planned to train/ride to Burns Bog and other points along the Fraser River, before circumstances got in our way. As today was a duty free day, Patty and I opted to go there for a walk instead.
